ONE Gas Lifts 2026 Earnings Outlook Following Strong First Half

Tulsa-based natural gas utility ONE Gas raised its 2026 adjusted earnings expectations to the upper half of its previous guidance range, citing consistent growth and favorable regulatory outcomes. The company reported second-quarter adjusted net income of $52.1 million, a sharp increase from $32.7 million during the same period last year.

The improved financial outlook stems from the utility's ability to capitalize on new rates and steady customer growth across its primary service territories in Oklahoma, Kansas, and Texas. Operating income for the second quarter reached $82.7 million, bolstered by $16.4 million in revenue from new rates, which helped offset rising employee-related and fleet expenses. Despite weather patterns that were 42 percent warmer than normal, the company utilized weather normalization mechanisms to stabilize its performance.

CEO Robert S. McAnnally attributed the positive results to the company's long-term growth strategy and its focus on operating within constructive jurisdictions. Alongside the earnings adjustment, the board of directors declared a quarterly dividend of $0.68 per share, payable on August 31. The company continues to prioritize system integrity and service expansion, with capital investments projected to hit $800 million for the full year.
