STIHL Debuts ALLPRO Battery System with Tabless Cell Technology

Forestry and landscape professionals face fewer interruptions with the launch of STIHL’s ALLPRO battery system. By adopting tabless cell architecture, the manufacturer claims a significant jump in power delivery and charging speed, while maintaining full compatibility with the existing fleet of AP-series tools and chargers.

STIHL Debuts ALLPRO Battery System with Tabless Cell Technology

The ALLPRO system represents a major pivot in how STIHL manages power for municipal and heavy-duty field work. At the center of this shift is the transition from conventional energy flow to tabless technology, which allows electricity to move across the entire surface of the cell. This design reduces internal resistance and heat buildup, directly addressing the primary factors that degrade battery life over time.

Performance metrics for the new AP 300.0 P model show a 60% increase in peak power and a 20% improvement in runtime compared to the previous AP 300.0 S. Perhaps most significant for high-tempo operations is the ability to achieve an 80% charge in under ten minutes when utilizing the AL 1602 MO mobile fast charger. These units are rated IPX5 for water resistance and are engineered to withstand up to 3,000 charge cycles, doubling the expected longevity of previous iterations.

Michael Traub, CEO of the STIHL Group, emphasized that the system is designed to protect existing capital investments. By ensuring cross-compatibility, the company allows users to integrate new high-performance cells into their current tool inventory without replacing older hardware. The lineup includes four variants—the AP 100.0 P, 200.0 P, 300.0 P, and the connectivity-enabled 300.0 PC—alongside two standard-cell alternatives, the AP 20.1 and 30.1, for users who prioritize traditional performance metrics over ultra-fast charging capabilities.
