The litigation centers on whether Roblox management misled shareholders regarding the efficacy and business impact of its age-verification protocols. While executives repeatedly touted safety as a paramount corporate commitment, the company’s stock suffered a 16% collapse—erasing $13 billion in market value—following an October 2025 announcement of global age-check requirements.
Roblox Investors Face August 7 Deadline in Expanded Class Action Lawsuit
A securities class action against Roblox Corporation has entered a critical phase as law firm Hagens Berman expands the scope of its investigation. Investors who held common stock between October 31, 2024, and April 30, 2026, now have until August 7, 2026, to seek lead plaintiff status regarding the company’s safety disclosures.

Subsequent disclosures in April 2026 revealed that these verification measures created significant friction, contributing to a decline in organic sign-ups and a sharp deceleration in daily active user growth. Consequently, Roblox slashed its 2026 revenue and bookings guidance. Reed Kathrein, the Hagens Berman partner leading the probe, is now examining when leadership became aware of these adverse consequences and whether they intentionally withheld this information from the market. The firm is also encouraging whistleblowers with non-public information to come forward, citing potential rewards under SEC programs.
