Proteotype Diagnostics Launches Alchemi Platform for Cancer Testing

With €499,000 in European Innovation Council funding, Portugal-based Proteotype Diagnostics is launching Alchemi, a proprietary data and orchestration platform. The system is designed to govern clinical workflows and machine-learning models for Enlighten, the company’s investigational blood-based test for early multi-cancer detection across distributed laboratory environments.

Proteotype Diagnostics Launches Alchemi Platform for Cancer Testing

The 15-month development project, scheduled to commence on September 1, 2026, aims to decentralize diagnostic testing by integrating laboratory measurements with existing healthcare records. By utilizing standards such as HL7 FHIR and SNOMED CT, Alchemi seeks to reduce dependency on central testing facilities, allowing for smoother integration into local care pathways. The platform provides a secure, multilingual interface for clinicians, alongside regulatory-compliant audit trails and traceable processing steps for machine-learning outputs.

Proteotype CEO Wesley Sukdao described the platform as the essential digital infrastructure required to transform laboratory measurements into reliable, actionable results for physicians. As the company expands its MODERNISED and INNOVATOR clinical studies, the platform will manage complex, multi-country datasets while maintaining data pseudonymization and security. The development effort will be headquartered at the company’s Torres Vedras site, where recruitment for engineering and cybersecurity roles is currently underway.
