Expert testers at the automotive marketplace evaluated 56 vehicles for the 2026 model year, focusing on the accessibility of LATCH anchors and the fitment of various child seat configurations. Jennifer Newman, editor in chief at Cars.com and a certified child passenger safety technician, noted that the two-row SUV accommodates two car seats with ease, solidifying its reputation as a practical choice for smaller families.

Beyond seat compatibility, the Tucson Hybrid bolsters its family-focused credentials with a robust suite of standard safety equipment. The vehicle includes forward collision warning, lane-keep assist, and rear occupant alerts. These features complement the model's recent industry milestones, including a 2026 IIHS TOP SAFETY PICK+ and a 5-Star Overall Safety Rating from the NHTSA. Ricky Lao, director of product planning at Hyundai Motor North America, emphasized that these accolades provide consumers with tangible assurance regarding the vehicle's advanced driver-assistance systems and overall protective design.
