The latest infusion of capital is earmarked for four specific pillars of research: AI-driven clinical trial optimization, the PedAL Master Clinical Trial for pediatric cancer, the Career Development Program for early-career scientists, and the Therapy Acceleration Program. These funds aim to bridge the gap between experimental laboratory discovery and tangible patient outcomes.
Mangurian Foundation Pledges $4 Million to Blood Cancer United
The Harry T. Mangurian, Jr. Foundation has committed an additional $4 million to Blood Cancer United, pushing its total philanthropic investment in the organization past the $25 million mark. This long-term partnership now enters its sixteenth year, focusing on high-impact clinical trials and pediatric research initiatives.
E. Anders Kolb, president and CEO of Blood Cancer United, noted that the foundation’s sustained backing has been instrumental in moving projects from initial concepts to clinical application. The partnership previously provided early support for the Beat AML Master Clinical Trial and The Dare to Dream Project. Since 2019, the latter has funneled over $41 million into pediatric research, while the Beat AML initiative has screened more than 1,850 patients to date. Stephen Mehallis, president of the Mangurian Foundation, emphasized that the new grant reflects a commitment to both established research legacies and emerging technologies, such as artificial intelligence, to expedite the development of life-saving treatments for the more than 100 known types of blood cancer.
