Bitchat significantly outperforms established predecessors like Bridgefy, offering a signal range exceeding 300 meters compared to the 100-meter threshold typical of similar tools. While the project is currently in a closed beta phase via Apple TestFlight, it has already hit its 10,000-user capacity limit. Dorsey indicated that further iterations will integrate Wi-Fi Direct to improve both connection speed and transmission distance, though the software remains under review prior to a wider public rollout.
