Five Small Businesses Secure 2026 Big Dreams Grants

Out of 6,500 applicants across the United States, five entrepreneurs have been selected to receive the 2026 Big Dreams Grant. The initiative, spearheaded by Simply Business and Sky's the Limit, provides a $5,000 infusion, mentorship, and operational tools to help these growing ventures scale their impact beyond local markets.

The winning cohort represents a diverse range of industries and community-focused models. Vermont’s BirdieBlue transforms discarded outdoor gear into new bags, while Ohio’s KneadED NEO LLC operates as a worker-owned bakery and shared kitchen space. Pennsylvania’s Rise & Ritual integrates plant medicine with wellness, and Wisconsin’s Select Auto Parts & Sales pairs salvage services with local workforce training. Rounding out the group, New York-based Stereotype Co runs a creative agency that teaches public school students how to build merchandise businesses in the classroom.

These grants address a critical pain point for early-stage founders: the administrative burden. A 2026 survey from Simply Business revealed that 80% of small business owners lose valuable time to finance and paperwork instead of core growth activities. Dave Nudelman, founder of Stereotype Co, noted that the funding will allow him to finally hire outreach support and pivot away from managing every operational detail himself. Beyond the capital, winners and 20 additional finalists gain entry to the Sky's the Limit Launchpad, a platform designed to automate workflows and provide mentorship from experienced business leaders.
