PBS Biotech Joins Organoid COMMONS to Scale Human-Relevant Models
Camarillo-based PBS Biotech has joined the Organoid COMMONS consortium, aiming to transition complex organoid technologies from laboratory research into large-scale industrial manufacturing. The partnership seeks to establish standardized bioprocessing frameworks that move the pharmaceutical industry beyond its traditional reliance on animal-based testing models.

Martin Simonetti, CEO of PBS Biotech, stated that the collaboration is designed to define benchmark standards for the next generation of regenerative medicine. Beyond individual technical contributions, the company will participate in building a shared repository of process knowledge and standardized protocols. This effort is expected to benefit the broader life sciences sector by reducing batch-to-batch variability and improving the overall viability of organoid yields in precision medicine.
