BioArctic royalty revenue climbs as Leqembi sales hit 29.3 billion yen

BioArctic AB reported a 10 percent increase in royalties for the second quarter of 2026, reaching 179 million SEK. The surge follows global sales of the Alzheimer’s drug Leqembi reaching 29.3 billion yen, a performance that, when adjusted for previous one-time stockpiling, marks a 43 percent year-over-year growth trajectory.

The revenue figures, disclosed by partner Eisai alongside Biogen’s quarterly report, highlight the commercial momentum of the monoclonal antibody. While the second quarter of 2025 included a 5.3 billion yen windfall from stockpiling in the Chinese market, the current period demonstrates organic expansion in the drug's global footprint. BioArctic, which holds the rights to the treatment it co-developed with Eisai, continues to benefit from these global sales milestones without bearing ongoing development costs for the Alzheimer’s indication.

Leqembi is currently approved in 53 countries, with recent regulatory progress including subcutaneous dosing approvals and inclusion in China’s commercial insurance lists.
