Cognizant is formalizing its presence in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa with a dedicated AI unit designed to move enterprises beyond experimental pilots. By integrating advisory, engineering, and delivery services, the firm intends to help businesses deploy agentic AI systems that function independently of specific cloud or model providers.
Early implementations of this model are already underway. The company is currently assisting a major European online fashion retailer in establishing an AI factory, a system capable of condensing development cycles from months to days. Simultaneously, a global pharmaceutical firm is leveraging these multi-agent systems to refine research and development processes, including drug discovery and clinical trial design. By maintaining a vendor-neutral stance, Cognizant aims to navigate regional data sovereignty and regulatory requirements, allowing clients to select technology stacks tailored to their specific operational needs rather than locking them into a single ecosystem.
