The platform mirrors familiar services like Venmo, allowing for direct transfers within the X ecosystem. Users can link their accounts to Apple Wallet, while those paying for top-tier subscriptions gain access to a 6 percent APY. This high-yield rate is exclusive to Premium Plus members, though standard Premium subscribers can unlock similar benefits by maintaining specific deposit minimums.
Elon Musk Brings X Money to US Users
Starting today, X is expanding its payment platform, X Money, to all Premium and Premium Plus subscribers in the United States. Moving beyond its invite-only beta phase, the service now offers digital wallet functionality, peer-to-peer transfers, and a branded metal Visa card as part of Elon Musk’s vision for an everything app.

This rollout follows Musk’s long-standing ambition to centralize financial services under the X brand, a goal he first articulated during internal staff meetings in 2023. However, the expansion arrives under a cloud of regulatory scrutiny. Senator Elizabeth Warren has publicly questioned the initiative, citing potential risks to consumer protection, national security, and the broader stability of the financial system. Despite these concerns, the platform is now live for domestic users, marking a significant step in Musk's push to integrate banking into the social media interface.
