Ardagh Metal Packaging Raises Profit Outlook After Strong Q2 Performance

Ardagh Metal Packaging reported a 14% increase in second-quarter adjusted EBITDA to $240 million, surpassing internal guidance despite a 1% global decline in beverage can shipments. The Luxembourg-based firm cited robust volume growth in Europe and improved operational efficiency as primary drivers for the performance boost.

The company’s growth was particularly evident in Europe, where adjusted EBITDA surged by 36% to $105 million, benefiting from favorable input cost recovery and solid demand. In contrast, the Americas segment faced headwinds, with shipments falling by 6% due to contract resets in North America and shifting customer demand in Brazil. Despite these regional variations, Ardagh managed to improve its full-year 2026 adjusted EBITDA outlook to a range of $775–790 million, up from its previous estimate of $750–775 million.

CEO Oliver Graham noted that the company is emerging from a period of supply constraints in North America and anticipates a return to normalized operating conditions for the second half of the year. While global shipment volumes contracted slightly as the company cycled against a strong prior-year period, the firm maintains a healthy liquidity position of $647 million. As Ardagh marks its 10-year anniversary, management confirmed that capital allocation priorities remain unchanged, with a regular quarterly dividend of 10 cents per share.
