The Haiphong facility spans 3,200 square meters and features an 80 percent automation rate across critical stages, including melting, cooling, and pulverization. By utilizing advanced process-control technology to maintain temperature uniformity, the plant aims to minimize compositional deviations and furnace lining erosion, ensuring higher purity in materials like LG PuroTec™ and Easy-Clean Enamel.
LG Electronics Scales Glass Powder Production in Vietnam
LG Electronics has activated a new manufacturing line in Haiphong, Vietnam, designed to produce 2,000 tons of glass powder annually. This expansion establishes a dual-production network with the company’s existing South Korean facility, pushing total capacity to 6,500 tons to meet rising demand for antimicrobial and functional coating materials.

These materials serve a broad B2B client base, with PuroTec™ utilized in plastics and rubber to suppress microbial growth, while Easy-Clean Enamel provides durable, stain-resistant coatings for kitchen appliances. Beyond current offerings, LG is diversifying its portfolio with specialized products such as 'Marine Glass' for ecosystem restoration and 'Mineral Wash' technology. Since launching its advanced materials business in 2023, the company has seen sales double annually, supported by a patent portfolio exceeding 420 entries and regulatory approvals across North America and Europe.
