The acquisition marks a strategic push by Focus to address the mounting complexity within healthcare technology environments. By integrating GuideIT’s two decades of operational experience, the company intends to shift the burden of vendor coordination away from healthcare providers. GuideIT will continue to operate under its existing name as a Focus company, ensuring that current client contracts and service teams remain stable during the transition.
Focus Acquires GuideIT to Streamline Healthcare IT Infrastructure
Chicago-based technology firm Focus has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire Plano-based GuideIT, aiming to consolidate fragmented healthcare IT services under a single accountable partner. The deal seeks to replace the current industry model of managing multiple disparate vendors with a unified platform for infrastructure and security.

Bruce Schaumberg, CEO of Focus, framed the move as a direct response to what he describes as an accountability crisis in the sector. Rather than juggling separate providers for cybersecurity, cloud, and clinical support, healthcare organizations will now have access to a centralized team. For GuideIT, the partnership provides the scale necessary to support larger, more complex systems while maintaining the service-oriented approach that defined its growth in Texas. Financial advisor MartinWolf facilitated the transaction, which positions Focus to deepen its footprint in managed services and automation across North America.
