Sedgwick expands repair network to heavy equipment sector

Managing heavy equipment repairs can be complex, but Sedgwick's direct repair program puts carriers in the driver's seat, said Chris Bakes, Managing Director of Auto Solutions. The company is now extending its concierge-level repair services to include a nationwide network of 250 certified facilities specifically for large, specialized vehicles.

The expansion leverages Sedgwick's existing infrastructure, which already supports the largest private passenger direct repair network in the United States. Carriers can now access certified technicians capable of servicing 18-wheelers, refrigerated trucks, and extended-height vans. This program aims to mirror the efficiency of Sedgwick’s automotive services by offering transparent pricing and contracted labor rates to help manage operational costs.

Every facility in the new network integrates directly with the company's mobile application. This connectivity allows for rapid photo documentation, real-time repair tracking, and streamlined digital approvals. By facilitating communication between technicians and carriers, the platform reduces administrative delays and ensures that specialized vehicles return to service faster. According to Telly Berry, Director of Vendor Management, the service covers the entire lifecycle of a claim, from initial scheduling to final inspection. Carriers are promised estimates within 48 hours of a vehicle's inspection, providing a predictable timeline for fleet managers and policyholders alike.
