Founded by artist Hebru Brantley and spirits veteran Peter Ibrahim, the premium London Dry gin has rapidly ascended in a competitive market. The SFWSC recognition arrives less than a year after the brand secured a 98-point rating and the Best Gin in Show title at the Las Vegas Global Spirit Awards. For co-founder Peter Ibrahim, these back-to-back accolades serve as a definitive indicator of the brand's commitment to quality.
The Old G Gin Secures Double Gold at San Francisco Spirits Competition
A 96-point score from a unanimous panel of judges has earned The Old G Gin a Double Gold medal at the 2026 San Francisco World Spirits Competition. This latest achievement reinforces the reputation of the Black and minority-owned brand, which previously claimed Best in Show honors in 2025.
The spirit is nine-times distilled using a blend of organic botanicals, including juniper, citrus peel, coriander, cardamom, licorice root, and orris root. To achieve its signature finish, the gin undergoes a two-day aeration process. This production method is designed to provide a clean, versatile profile suitable for sipping neat or as a cocktail base. Currently, the product is distributed across more than 750 retail locations in the United States, with the company recently expanding its reach through the introduction of a 200ml pocket-sized bottle and updated packaging.
