Van de Weyer currently heads the Business Unit API at Vonage, a role he assumed in 2025. His background includes a tenure as CEO of Telesign and a long-standing career at Bain & Company, where he focused on telecommunications and technology. Ericsson CEO Börje Ekholm credited Van de Weyer with restoring growth to the API business unit, noting that his appointment marks a deliberate phase in the company’s leadership succession strategy.

Niklas Heuveldop, who has served on the Executive Team since 2016, will step down on August 15, 2026. He will remain available to assist with the transition until the end of that year. During his time at the company, Heuveldop oversaw the restructuring of Vonage and led major market expansions, including a 14 billion USD network deal with AT&T while heading the North America market area.
