Wisconsin Approves Collaborative Classroom Programs for Literacy Grants
The Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction has added Collaborative Literacy and the SIPPS foundational skills program to its official early literacy curriculum list. This designation allows school districts across the state to access partial reimbursement grants when adopting these evidence-based materials for K–5 instruction.
Kelly Stuart, CEO of Collaborative Classroom, noted that the inclusion offers districts a path to improve literacy outcomes by providing teachers with tools to bridge reading and writing. Kari Steck, a senior manager at the organization, added that the eligibility for state grants reduces financial barriers for schools looking to implement these materials. The programs are now available for districts seeking to fulfill state standards for foundational literacy skills.
