The early go-live marks a critical shift for multinational firms navigating France's complex fiscal landscape. Unlike firms still struggling to bridge the gap between platform certification and functional reality, Basware customers have moved to full-scale invoice processing. Amine Dahar, IT Domain Manager at VINCI SA, described the move as a strategic choice to lead rather than follow, transforming the regulatory requirement into an operational opportunity.
Markus Hornburg, SVP of Global Compliance at Basware, noted that the industry is currently divided between those with paper-thin certifications and those with proven, high-volume capabilities. "Certification tells you a platform is allowed to operate, but production tells you it actually works at scale," Hornburg said. The distinction is vital, as the September 1 deadline imposes strict obligations on businesses to handle routing, lifecycle reporting, and mandatory formats like Factur-X.
