The latest industry outlook from the aerospace giant highlights a transition toward increased digitalization and data-driven maintenance. According to Chris Raymond, president and CEO of Boeing Global Services, the firm is prioritizing investments in skilled personnel and digital modernization to ensure fleet safety and efficiency. This long-term growth trajectory remains largely unaffected by near-term market disruptions.
Boeing Projects $4.9 Trillion Aviation Services Market Through 2045
The global aviation industry faces a massive recruitment challenge, requiring over 2.4 million new professionals by 2045 to meet a forecasted $4.9 trillion demand for services. Despite current supply chain and production hurdles, Boeing expects commercial air traffic to double over the next two decades, reshaping the sector's operational landscape.

To sustain this expansion, the industry must fill roles for 674,000 pilots, 728,000 maintenance technicians, and over 1 million cabin crew members. Approximately two-thirds of this hiring surge is intended to replace retiring staff, while the remainder will accommodate fleet growth. Boeing suggests that competency-based training, bolstered by immersive technologies, will be vital in addressing these global shortages. Eurasia is projected to lead the demand for personnel and services, with an estimated $1.185 trillion market requirement, followed closely by North America and China.
