Skullcandy Integrates Bose Technology Into New Crusher Headphones

Skullcandy has launched the Crusher 1080 ANC, marking a significant shift by incorporating Bose audio technology into its signature bass-heavy hardware. Priced at $279.99, these headphones combine the company's dedicated sub-bass drivers with Bose's noise cancellation and spatial audio engines to stabilize sound quality during intense low-frequency playback.

The Crusher line has long been defined by its aggressive bass, an approach that historically compromised audio fidelity. To mitigate this, the 1080 ANC model features redesigned drivers with stiffer diaphragms, reducing distortion at high volumes. The integration of Bose’s QuietControl ANC and six-microphone array allows the device to adapt dynamically to environmental noise, while the SpeechClarity feature enhances voice isolation during calls.

Beyond noise cancellation, the headphones are the first non-Bose product to utilize TrueSpatial audio with head tracking and the WaveForm engine for balanced output. Users can manage the intense bass output via a prominent physical dial or the companion mobile app. With a battery life reaching 50 hours with ANC enabled, the headset also supports Bluetooth 5.3, LE Audio, and Auracast, alongside standard conveniences like multipoint pairing and automatic wear detection.
