Meta expands AI video dubbing to Instagram and Facebook creators

Creators on Instagram and Facebook can now automatically dub their reels into different languages using Meta’s latest AI tool. The feature goes beyond simple audio translation, employing voice-matching technology and synchronized lip-syncing to make the converted speech appear natural, bridging the communication gap between English and Spanish-speaking audiences.

To activate the feature, users simply toggle the "Translate voices with Meta AI" option before publishing their content. The system allows creators to review the generated output and apply lip-sync adjustments before the video goes live. Once published, the platform automatically displays translated reels to viewers based on their preferred language settings, ensuring that each video carries a clear disclosure tag noting the use of AI.

Access is currently tiered, rolling out to all public Instagram accounts and Facebook creators who maintain a following of at least 1,000 people. While the tool is currently limited to English and Spanish, it marks a significant expansion of the technology Meta first demonstrated at its Connect event last year.
