WK Kellogg Co Launches Super Stars Cereal for K-12 School Programs

To streamline breakfast service in school cafeterias, WK Kellogg Co is rolling out Super Stars, a new cereal line tailored for K-12 environments. The product aims to balance nutritional requirements with operational efficiency, featuring pre-portioned packaging and kid-tested flavors to boost participation in school nutrition programs across the United States.

The new lineup, which includes Celebration Crunch, Cinnamon Crunch, Fruity Crunch, and Honey Crunch, uses star-shaped pieces designed to appeal to younger students. Beyond flavor, the product addresses labor challenges in school kitchens by offering 1-ounce bowls, 2-ounce cups, and a new 1-ounce pouch format that requires minimal preparation. Each serving is fortified with iron and six B-vitamins, providing 20% of the daily value for these nutrients, alongside 4 grams of dietary fiber.

Sarah Ludmer, Chief Wellbeing and Sustainable Business Officer at WK Kellogg Co, noted that the product was developed to help nutrition professionals navigate rising costs and staffing constraints. The portfolio also marks the return of Katy the Kangaroo, a character absent from the brand’s marketing for over 70 years, who joins staples like Tony the Tiger and Toucan Sam on the packaging. The company will debut the line at the School Nutrition Association’s Annual National Conference in Charlotte, NC, before a wider release for the 2027-2028 academic year.
