The new tool functions as an autonomous assistant, capable of answering questions about tuition, security, and program logistics while capturing lead data directly into the platform’s management system. It is designed to act within guardrails set by individual providers, ensuring that sensitive topics—such as medical advice or complex financial exceptions—are automatically escalated to human staff. This transition toward agentic technology reflects a broader shift as operators move away from manual, center-dependent processes.
Illumine Deploys Agentic AI to Automate Childcare Admissions
Childcare management platform Illumine is rolling out an AI-driven enrollment agent designed to handle parent inquiries and tour scheduling across multi-site facilities. By automating the front desk, the company aims to resolve the common conflict between managing classroom transitions and capturing new leads during peak afternoon hours.

Alongside the launch, Illumine released its 2026 Childcare Enrollment Benchmark Report, which highlights how operational inefficiencies, such as slow response times, currently hinder growth across the sector. The company, which recently achieved SOC 2 Type II certification, maintains that these AI teammates are intended to support educators rather than replace the human connection essential to early childhood development. CEO Navneet Rastogi emphasized that the technology seeks to remove the administrative burden that forces many operators to choose between business growth and direct student care.
