The firearms, engineered by the company's Custom Works division, feature a distinct black chrome finish complemented by gold-plated controls. Each pistol includes American walnut grips sourced from Appalachia, inlaid with the Medal of Honor medallion. The sight plates are engraved to mirror the Medal of Honor ribbon, while the side of each frame bears the specific rank and name of the individual recipient.
SIG SAUER Honors Medal of Honor Recipients with Custom M17 Pistols
Four U.S. Army soldiers received custom-crafted M17 commemorative pistols at the SIG SAUER Experience Center in Epping, New Hampshire. The tribute recognized the extraordinary service and bravery of Master Sergeant Earl D. Plumlee, Staff Sergeant David G. Bellavia, Staff Sergeant Salvatore A. Giunta, and Staff Sergeant Ryan M. Pitts.
These four men were decorated for their actions during the War on Terrorism, where they performed acts of valor to protect their fellow service members. The M17 platform itself holds significance as the official sidearm of the United States Armed Forces.
