Mama Justice Expands Community Outreach Across Mississippi and Alabama

Eight years after establishing the Macon a Difference Foundation, founding attorney Missy Wigginton is scaling her firm’s philanthropic reach throughout 2026. From disaster relief in North Alabama to youth advocacy in Tupelo, the firm is leveraging its legal practice to fund a sprawling network of local social initiatives.

The cornerstone of this year’s outreach was the firm’s primary sponsorship of the American Red Cross "Dine for Disaster Relief" campaign, which mobilized restaurants across North Mississippi and North Alabama from March 22 to 28. This effort aligns with the broader mission of the Macon a Difference Foundation, a nonprofit Wigginton launched in 2018 following the death of her son. The foundation serves as a flexible vehicle for aid, focusing on underprivileged youth and those displaced by regional crises.

Beyond disaster relief, the firm’s 2026 agenda includes a diverse array of community projects. These range from educational scholarships for university students and athletes to specialized legal support, such as expungement assistance designed to help young adults secure second chances. The firm also maintains a heavy presence in local infrastructure and health initiatives, including the development of a community skate park, sponsorship of Juneteenth and Sista Strut events, and hands-on volunteering at hospital NICU lounges and Habitat for Humanity builds. Wigginton views this work as a natural extension of her legal practice, noting that her role allows her to provide care and advocacy to everyone in need of justice, not just her clients.
