Cooper Standard Wins Golden Scale Award for Lightweight Sealing Tech
A panel of industry experts in Shanghai awarded Cooper Standard the 2025 Golden Scale Award for Sealing System Innovation. The recognition highlights the company’s FlexiCore technology, a thermoplastic alternative to traditional rubber seals that is gaining traction among global automotive manufacturers for its efficiency and sustainability benefits.
Patrick Clark, president of sealing systems at Cooper Standard, noted that the award reflects the company’s deepening footprint in the Chinese market. This accolade follows a string of industry honors for the technology, including a 2026 Environment+Energy Leader Award and a 2024 SPE Automotive Innovation Award. Having officially entered production with a global automaker earlier this year, the material is now moving from development into widespread commercial application.
