The 41mm Pixel Watch 5 is expected to start at $399 for the Wi-Fi model and $499 with LTE, a $50 increase over the previous generation. The larger 45mm variant follows a similar trend, priced at $429 and $529 respectively, marking a $30 hike. These adjustments reflect broader industry trends where manufacturers are struggling with supply constraints in the semiconductor market.
Google prepares for broad price hikes across Pixel hardware
A $50 jump for the entry-level Pixel Watch 5 and the removal of base storage tiers for the Pixel 11 signal a new pricing strategy from Google. As memory costs climb due to AI-driven demand, the company appears ready to pass these expenses directly to consumers starting this year.
European markets face more significant shifts for the Pixel 11 series. Reports indicate the discontinuation of the 128GB base model, pushing the entry price for the standard Pixel 11 to €999 for 256GB of storage. The Pixel 11 Pro is anticipated to start at €1,199, while the premium Pro XL and Fold models could see increases of €100 each, reaching €1,399 and €1,999. While the cost of 256GB configurations is expected to remain stable, the elimination of lower-capacity tiers forces a higher investment for those entering the Google hardware ecosystem.
