Movemedical Debuts AI Assistant for Surgical Supply Chain Operations

San Diego-based Movemedical has launched Ask Move AI, a conversational assistant designed to automate surgical case workflows for medical device field representatives. Built on 15 years of surgical data, the tool allows personnel to manage inventory, scheduling, and billing through voice or text commands while maintaining strict regulatory compliance.

The new interface allows field reps to move beyond manual screen navigation, enabling smart case creation, inventory lookups, and invoice retrieval on the go. By integrating directly into Movemedical’s existing platform, the AI functions atop a deterministic core that is already SOC 2, HIPAA, and HITRUST-certified. According to CEO Mark Herrington, the company prioritized building a robust compliance foundation before deploying these agentic capabilities, ensuring that customer data remains private and is not used to train underlying models.

Chief Product Officer Vito Salvaggio noted that the initial release targets the most significant friction points in a representative’s daily schedule. Future updates are expected to include automated post-case reconciliation and demand forecasting tools. The AI features are currently available as an opt-in component of the platform’s 2026.5 release, allowing medical device companies to integrate the technology according to their own internal timelines.
