Dr. Larry Pettit Blends Medicine and Music in Park Cities Parade

Drums in hand, emergency physician Dr. Larry Pettit traded his stethoscope for a pair of sticks this Independence Day, performing with The Rust Band atop a winning float in the Park Cities Fourth of July Parade to highlight his clinic's dual focus on clinical excellence and local community engagement.

For the second consecutive year, the Advance ER float secured the Best Parade Float Award, a distinction the organization claims as a first in the event's history. Beyond the festivities, the appearance served as a public extension of the practice's recent outreach efforts. Dr. Pettit, a veteran of nearly 30 years in emergency medicine, recently featured on the local podcast Knight Light DFW to discuss the intersection of diagnostic technology and the necessity of compassionate care in managing patient anxiety.

This community involvement also included a charitable donation to the North Texas Food Bank, an organization serving the region for 45 years. Dr. Pettit emphasized that the role of a physician reaches far beyond the walls of the clinic, suggesting that individual medical interactions often trigger positive ripple effects for families and businesses throughout the Metroplex. Advance ER, which operates facilities in Park Cities and Preston Hollow/Galleria, maintains that such participation in local traditions is essential to fostering the health and well-being of the residents they serve.
