Lego launches debut Pokémon collection with $650 diorama

A 6,838-piece diorama featuring Charizard, Blastoise, and Venusaur headlines Lego’s first foray into the Pokémon franchise, arriving February 27 alongside two smaller sets. While the collection targets nostalgic collectors with high-end display pieces, it also introduces modular, poseable figures designed for both play and shelf-top exhibition.

The centerpiece of the launch is a massive $649.99 set depicting the original starter Pokémon in their final evolutions, complete with custom biomes for each creature. Collectors who purchase this behemoth during the initial release window through March 8 will receive an exclusive 312-piece Kanto Region Badge Collection as a promotional gift. The collection also includes a $199.99 Pikachu set, which features a buildable Poké Ball and a display stand subtly referencing the character's Pokédex number, 25. For those with more modest budgets, a 587-piece articulated Eevee figure is available for $59.99, marking the most accessible entry point into the new line. Beyond these retail offerings, Lego is utilizing its loyalty program to drive engagement, offering a 233-piece Mini Pokémon Center set to members who redeem 2,600 points. These sets represent a significant expansion for the toy manufacturer, arriving just ahead of the company’s broader Smart Brick initiative scheduled for March.
