Larkin Community Hospital Palm Springs Wins Stroke Care Excellence Award
Stroke remains the fourth leading cause of death in the United States, yet Larkin Community Hospital Palm Springs is shifting the odds. The American Heart Association recently honored the Hialeah facility with the Silver Plus quality achievement award for its rigorous adherence to life-saving, evidence-based stroke treatment protocols.

Yoely Hernandez, CEO of Larkin Community Hospital Palm Springs, noted that the program allows clinical teams to translate proven science into daily practice. According to Dr. Steven Messe, volunteer chair of the American Heart Association Stroke System of Care, hospitals participating in this initiative consistently see lower mortality rates and fewer hospital readmissions. Beyond acute care, the hospital provides specialized support to help patients manage recovery and long-term health at home.
