Regal Cinemas Launches Month-Long Hot Dog Promotion

Seventy-six hot dogs in ten minutes is the benchmark to beat, but Regal Cinemas is betting moviegoers can handle a slower pace to win prizes. Through August 2, the theater chain is upgrading its concession menu to quarter-pound Nathan's Famous franks, incentivizing loyalty members with rewards and a trip to Coney Island.

Jake Bishop, Regal's head of food and beverage, stated the company has overhauled its hot dog offerings, including the meat, buns, and condiments. To drive participation, the theater chain is offering loyalty members a free toppings upgrade for their first purchase, allowing them to sample the Chili Cheese Dog or the limited-time Coyote vs Acme Dynamite Dog. Beyond the menu, the promotion ties directly into Regal's loyalty platform. Members earn 1,000 bonus credits on their first purchase and receive a free hot dog for every five bought thereafter.

Frequent snackers are also entered into a sweepstakes for a luxury trip to the 2027 Nathan's Famous Hot Dog Eating Contest. The top five consumers of hot dogs during the promotional period will receive a custom, mustard-belt-inspired popcorn bucket. Regal is also leaning into the branding on July 15; in honor of National Hot Dog Day, any Regal Crown Club member named Nathan will receive a complimentary quarter-pound classic dog via the company's mobile app.
