Boise-based ValorC3 Data Centers has launched a managed Disaster Recovery as a Service (DRaaS) platform designed to decouple workload protection from underlying hypervisors. By enabling failover between disparate environments like VMware, Hyper-V, and OpenStack, the service aims to end the industry-standard requirement of matching recovery sites to source platforms.
The service targets recovery point objectives near 15 minutes, with near-zero replication capabilities for critical workloads. ValorC3 utilizes its data centers in Boise, Idaho, and St. George, Utah, to provide geographical separation across distinct fault zones. While the provider monitors the platform, customers retain management of testing and failover execution through a self-service portal. This co-managed approach addresses a persistent industry gap, where nearly 70% of ransomware victims struggle to fully restore data despite high confidence in their recovery capabilities.
