The company’s growth remains widespread. In the Americas, the AION ES and AION UT models broke into top-ten sales rankings in Mexico, while GAC maintained its status as the leading Chinese passenger brand in Bolivia. Across the Asia-Pacific, GAC secured the top spot for private EV sales in Hong Kong after local subsidy changes and captured a significant market share in Singapore. European operations also gained traction, with the AION UT beginning production in Austria and making its debut in Milan, followed by formal market entries in the UK and Spain.
GAC International Exports Surge Amid Global Expansion
GAC International exported 121,483 vehicles in the first half of 2026, a 132% year-on-year increase that nearly matches the company's entire output for the previous year. This rapid growth marks a shift in the automaker’s international footprint, driven by aggressive expansion across the Americas, Europe, and the Asia-Pacific region.
Quality benchmarks have bolstered these commercial gains. In Kuwait, the brand secured top rankings for overall vehicle quality and residual value among Chinese manufacturers. The AION UT continues to anchor this performance, earning honors as the best-selling BEV in Bolivia and leading the pure electric hatchback segment across multiple markets including Uruguay and Colombia. Meanwhile, the AION V reached new sales highs and earned a spot on the shortlist for Australia’s Drive Car of the Year 2026, signaling the brand's intent to compete directly in established premium segments.
