A ribbon-cutting ceremony at 211 W. Fort Street marked the official arrival of Nagase America’s Mobility Solutions office in the heart of the city. The event brought together local city officials and Japanese consular representatives to celebrate the company’s strategic expansion into Detroit’s central automotive corridor.
With over 25 years of automotive experience in Michigan, Nagase America serves as a vital link for global OEMs and Tier-1 suppliers. Its work spans vehicle interiors, electrification, and materials science, supporting the entire development cycle from initial concept to final commercialization. Kevin Johnson, president and CEO of the Detroit Economic Growth Corporation, stated that the company’s decision to move downtown reflects the city’s rising prominence among international automotive players.
