Wesco Bolsters Southeast Asia Data Center Reach with Newark Acquisition
Wesco International has finalized its acquisition of Newark Engineering Group, a Singapore-based specialist in thermal management systems. The deal integrates Newark’s design, installation, and lifecycle service capabilities into Wesco’s infrastructure portfolio, marking a strategic push to deepen the Pittsburgh-based firm’s footprint in the Southeast Asian data center market.

John Engel, Chairman, President and CEO of Wesco, noted that the acquisition enhances the company’s ability to manage the data center value chain. Wesco, a Fortune 500 entity with approximately $24 billion in annual 2025 sales, currently employs 21,000 people globally. This move aligns with the company’s broader strategy of expanding its international network, which already spans more than 700 sites across 50 countries.
