The new tracker integrates directly with Google’s Find My Device network and includes Ultra-Wideband sensing for pinpoint location accuracy. By pushing battery longevity past the 500-day mark, Motorola significantly outperforms its previous model and industry standards like the Apple AirTag, which typically cap out at one year of use.
Motorola Upgrades Moto Tag with Extended Battery Life
Motorola is pushing its tracking hardware further, announcing a second-generation Moto Tag that promises over 500 days of battery life. This substantial jump in efficiency allows users to track their belongings for nearly a year and a half without needing to swap out the internal power cell.

Beyond power efficiency, the device gains a boost in durability with an IP68 rating, ensuring protection against dust and water immersion. The physical button remains a key feature, serving both as a remote camera shutter and a trigger to ping a misplaced smartphone with an audible alert. While Motorola has confirmed the tracker will debut in North American markets, the company has yet to disclose specific pricing or a firm release date, promising more details in the coming months.
