Shanghai-based electronics recycler ATRenew has published its 2025 ESG report, highlighting a 9.5% reduction in carbon emissions intensity and significant gains in AI-driven automated inspection. The company, a 2025 Earthshot Prize finalist, continues to scale its circular economy model through enhanced green finance and integrity-led governance.

Technological innovation remains the primary driver for the company's operational efficiency. In 2025, ATRenew invested RMB 240 million into R&D, focusing on AI-based auditing and the expansion of its proprietary Matrix inspection system. These advancements have allowed the company to automate approximately 50% of phone inspections, with its X-Ray technology achieving 99% accuracy in identifying counterfeit components.
