Eisai to Unveil New Lecanemab Clinical and Real-World Data at AAIC 2026

Eisai will present a wide-ranging set of clinical and real-world evidence for the Alzheimer’s drug lecanemab at the Alzheimer’s Association International Conference in London this July. The presentations, spanning July 12 to 15, will focus on subcutaneous delivery, long-term maintenance dosing, and outcomes across diverse patient populations.

The upcoming sessions at AAIC 2026 represent a significant push to refine the practical application of lecanemab, known commercially as Leqembi. A centerpiece of the conference will be the LEADER study, a comprehensive, multi-center retrospective analysis evaluating the drug's performance in real-world clinical settings three years after its initial approval. This research is expected to offer the first reported findings on at-home subcutaneous administration and provide clarity on maintenance dosing schedules using intravenous treatment every four weeks.

Beyond the LEADER study, researchers will detail the progress of the Phase 3 AHEAD 3-45 trial, which targets preclinical Alzheimer’s disease. Additional presentations are set to explore the modulation of core tau biomarkers and address racial and ethnic variations in treatment associations. BioArctic, the Swedish biopharma company that co-developed the drug, will also contribute to a plenary session centered on the prevalence of Alzheimer’s pathology within community settings. The data release aims to bridge the gap between controlled clinical trials and the complexities of daily medical practice for patients with early-stage Alzheimer’s.
